Hello.

There are the regular Raven feature requests, and then there are the “WHEN IS A CHROME TOOLBAR COMING?” feature requests.

As Raven's Community Manager, I've been saying "soon" for a while now. I'm pleased to let you know that "soon" is Thursday!

That's right. On this Thursday, Aug. 30, we’ll release a Chrome Toolbar with features you weren't even expecting.

How will you know the toolbar is live? We’ll post a download link on our blog on Thursday. Keep checking the blog, or follow @RavenTools on Twitter or Like our Facebook Page to be the first to know.

Also on Thursday, we're making a small UI change to the Link Manager that affects the menu to customize Link Statuses, Link Types and Website Types.

9 Chrome Toolbar features

First up: the Chrome Toolbar. There are 9 features—including several brand-new ones—that I'll explain briefly now. Look for more details (and larger images) on the Raven blog on Thursday.

  1. Star: Click this to go directly to the Raven dashboard for the account, profile and website you're logged into.

  2. Research: Automatically run a Research Central query for the URL that you're viewing.

  3. Links: You can a) add a link or b) view existing links for the website you're viewing. A window will pop up for your convenience. NEW! If you already have links to that website stored in Raven's Link Manager, a small badge will show the number.

  4. NEW! Contacts: You can a) add a contact, b) view existing contacts or c) discover contacts for the website you're viewing. A window will pop up for your convenience. If you already have contacts for that website stored in Raven's CRM, a small badge will show the number.

  5. NEW! Share: Post the link of the URL you're viewing on any of Facebook or Twitter profiles you have authorized in Raven. You can share the same content on multiple social media accounts.

  6. NEW! Notes: You can a) add a note or b) view existing notes for the website you're viewing. A window will pop up for your convenience. If you already have notes for that website stored in Raven's Website Directory, a small badge will show the number.

Website Notes are a brand-new feature for Raven; see below for more details.

  7. Personas: Choose a persona you have already created in the Raven Persona Manager, then choose the social media site you want to log into. The toolbar will automatically pull up that site and autofill the login and password information.

  8. Profile and Website: Toggle between your Raven profiles and websites with quick drop-down menus.

  9. Gear icon: Click here for more toolbar options, such as Preferences, Switch Accounts and Logout, as well as to view Dofollow and Nofollow links on any site you're visiting.

Also new: Website notes

You can now add notes about any website via the Chrome Toolbar or Website Directory tool in the Raven app. Website notes are another way to track important information and collaborate on your campaigns.

Creating a note for a website via the Chrome Toolbar automatically adds that website to the Website Directory.

The Website Directory is a global tool. That means that any user on your Raven account can see any website details, including the notes, in the Website Directory.

The Website Directory is located in the Links section of the Raven app.

Plus, Link Manager updates

We've made simple updates to the User Interface (UI) of one area of the Link Manager where you customize Link Statuses, Link Types and Website Types. This change makes this menu consistent with other UI changes we've made to Raven recently, and it speeds up the time you spend customizing Raven.

OLD UI:

You would click on the wrench icon in the Link Manager and choose a single option from the drop down.

That would take you to a the page where you could make changes to the single option you selected.

You would have to click on the Link Manager wrench drop-down menu again and choose another option to make additional changes.

NEW UI:

Click on the wrench icon in the Link Manager. This time, you'll go directly to a Settings page with three tabs, one for Link Status, one for Link Types and one for Website Types. You quickly can move from tab to tab to make changes to more than option.

Just as before, you can add, edit, delete and re-sort your custom Link Statuses, Link Types and Website Types (a few default Raven statuses and types cannot be edited or deleted).

Now you can also hide custom statuses and types or delete them with a bulk action.
