Tasting Notes: This full-bodied red is loaded with classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas and flavours of cassis, plums, bell peppers, cedar and violets that are focused and intense. The palate is bright, smooth and perfectly balanced with fine tannins and flavourful cassis-like acidity. The finish is long and persistent with more hints of cedar and spice. This is really great value for the money.

Terroir/Region: The McLaren Vale is one of Australia’s most famous and well-respected wine regions. Some of the oldest vineyards in the country are planted here and their vines produce fruit of outstanding quality and concentration. Because of its proximity to water, the climate in McLaren Vale is cooler than other parts of South Australia. The wines of the region are noted for their balance and elegance.
Producer: The Osborn family has been growing grapes and making wine at their estate winery in the heart of McLaren Vale since 1912. Chief Winemaker Chester Osborn and his team oversee every aspect of production from vine to bottle and they employ very traditional and labour intensive techniques like foot treading of the grapes and hand pressing in small batches.
Availability: d’Arenberg The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 will be available through Vintages officially on Saturday, but check stores now as some locations have released the wine early.
