Click here Community fisheries work involves observing crab at sea four times a yearFisheries Project Manager, Dianne Villesèche, invites you to experience through her words what the first crab biosampling trip was like for the 2019 season. The week-long at-sea observing trip across the Hecate Strait started off calm, and grew to six metre seas, but that didn’t stop Dianne from completing the task and capturing some amazing footage with permission from the vessel. The work we do with coastal fishing communities is broad and deep, but this month’s blog dives into our role as data collectors aboard Area A crab fishing vessels off the coast of Prince Rupert. This work fits our mission to support community-built solutions that create more sustainable fisheries. Dianne Villesèche recalls her first trip of the season (CLICK BELOW).
