This month we'll have the unique opportunity to learn from leading genetic counselors about how to bridge the gap between patients, medical professionals, and the Down syndrome community. This is vital as a growing number of prenatal testing companies are competitively vying for marketshare, and more women than ever are learning about a diagnosis of Down syndrome prenatally.

In addition, we'll discuss how local Down syndrome organizations can effectively use our new Understanding Prenatal Screening and Testing for Chromosome Conditions pamphlet to ensure that women receive balanced information about non-invasive prenatal screening and chromosome conditions before testing.

Stephanie Meredith, author of the printed resources, and Mark Leach, bioethics specialist, both with the National Center, will present two webinars on the new information for medical outreach efforts by Down syndrome organizations. They will also be joined by genetic counselors, Katie Stoll, MS, LGC, who is teaching a symposium on disability and prenatal testing at the National Society of Genetic Counselor's 2013 Annual Meeting, and Blythe Crissman, MS, CGC, who is currently conducting the Duke University School of Medicine Down Syndrome Prenatal Diagnosis Study. Attendees will learn:
