Meet our ordinands and deacons from across the Diocese, who will be ordained in July. We pray for them as they take theirs oaths and begin their next step on their journey of service. On 18 June we were delighted to welcome all our retired clergy, clergy widows and widowers to their annual service in Peterborough Cathedral. The service provides a wonderful opportunity to share the Eucharist, meet up with friends and celebrate the work of our retired clergy in their various forms of ministry. Bishop Debbie was warmly welcomed by the children, staff and governors of Pytchley CE Primary School when she visited in May to bless their new garden and library. On 26 June a service was held at KGH to inter 300 memorial crosses laid during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The service was taken by Hospital Lead Chaplain, Revd Mike Corcoran and attended by James Steele who lost his mother, Betty to Covid-19 in May 2020. We are delighted to welcome Bishop John Stroyan to the Diocese of Peterborough as a new Honorary Assistant Bishop. He joins our three other Honorary Assistants who are all retired Bishops, licenced to continue their ministry in the Diocese, mainly helping with parish services and taking confirmations.
