He will be speaking about the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) program. This event is open to teachers who may be interested in starting a STEAM program or incorporating STEAM into their classrooms. Mini-grant Winner Updates Classroom LibraryMini-grant winner Shayna Phillips, a teacher at Effingham Jr. High, shares about her updated classroom library: "This first quarter alone, over 120 books were checked out from my classroom library. Now, with even more books on my shelves thanks to the gift generously provided by the Central Illinois Rural Teacher Corporation, I am hopeful that my classroom library will continue to captivate these impressionable 7th graders of mine!" Rural Educators Across BordersRural Schools Collaborative recently launched a program called Rural Educators Across Borders. They held a pilot event with a panel of educators to discuss Resiliency, Pedagogy, and Teaching in Place. Holly Pitts, an EIU alum, was featured on the panel. Superintendent Bill Fritcher gave them a tour of campus, introduced them to various teachers and administrators, and gave them the opportunity to talk to Neoga's Future Teachers Club.FALL 2021 TECHNOLOGY SESSIONSThese sessions are for Rural Teacher Corps Members and New Teachers (others are welcome is space allows). These technology sessions are designed to provide a brief overview helping introduce how to use an instructional service or tool.
