Dear T’22s,

Greetings from Hanover! In a few days, many of you will be moving to the Upper Valley and we want to share some additional details about the move-in and check-in process. Here’s how it will work:

  • If you are moving into Achtmeyer, Pineau-Valencienne or Whittemore Halls, you will come to dorm circle, outside of Raether Hall. You can double park in dorm circle to unload your belongings. To get to dorm circle, turn left onto Engineering Drive from Wheelock Street at the blinking yellow light and follow the road to the left. Then turn right at the stop sign and drive around to the dorms.

  • If you are moving into Buchanan Hall, or an off-campus location, you will come to Buchanan Lawn at the end of Tuck Mall. You can park in the parking lot to the right of the building for the time it takes to unload your belongings.

  • In both locations, check-in will take place outside, under a tent. You will check-in under the tent to obtain your keys and ID card. Please wear a face covering and bring a state-issued ID or passport in order to receive your Dartmouth ID.

  • If you are moving into a dorm, you will have a two hour timeslot to unload your belongings, per the T’22 arrival survey you completed. If you are living off-campus, you can collect your keys and ID and then are free to leave.

  • You are welcome to have 1-2 people help unload your belongings, as long as they wear a mask. These visitors are not allowed to spend the night in the dorms as visitors are not allowed on campus at this time.

  • When you have finished moving in, you must move your car to the appointed lot for which you have purchased a parking pass. If you have not yet purchased a pass, we will give you a permit to display on your dashboard and you can park in Ledyard or Lewiston Lot temporarily. Passes are available for purchase here.

  • Once you move in to the dorm, you should be prepared to begin your 14-day quarantine. Quarantine and other health protocols can be found here. During quarantine, food will be available to you by delivery and curbside pickup. You may also want to prepare by bringing snacks and drinks when you move-in. For more on food options during your quarantine period, please visit this FAQ page.

  • Required COVID-19 testing will take place at Dick’s House. Please note that all students will be required to test again, seven days after your first test. We will reach out with more information on this shortly.

  • For additional information, please visit Tuck’s COVID-19 website.

We are working hard to ensure that you and your classmates settle in to Tuck in a safe and healthy manner. An FAQ page is available and we continue to update it. Please reach out with any questions. We are here to help, and are happy to take any and all questions.

See you soon!
