FALL 2011

From Our Executive Director

Dear Friend,

The recent White House announcement of Digital Promise, a national center focused on identifying breakthrough technologies that can transform teaching and learning, reaffirms the significant opportunity that technology can provide in preparing today’s youth to be successful in their future.

At MOUSE, we see the promise that technology provides our students every day.  In our recent Program Evaluation, students across the country shared that as a result of participating in MOUSE, they are improving teambuilding and critical thinking skills, more likely to attend college, and better prepared to enter the workforce.  MOUSE Coordinators added that their students feel more positive about their future and are more motivated to pursue careers involving technology.

Dhondup Namgyl, featured in this newsletter, is just one of many examples.  Dhondup is a 12th grade student at International High School, who spent his summer as an intern in the Desktop Support Group at Citi, where he built upon his previous experiences with MOUSE and experienced Wall Street for the very first time.

Thank you for you commitment to MOUSE.  With your support, we will continue to prepare and inspire youth to be the innovators of tomorrow!

Best,

Carole
