Tasting Note:
: This classically styled Bourgogne Pinot Noir is nicely tuned for everyday enjoyment. You’ll find aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, earth and spice on a rather complex nose. Wonderfully balanced, this mid-weight red shows good intensity and finesse on the palate. Dark fruit and spice flavours are complemented by bright fresh acidity and smooth tannins on the finish
Enjoy With:
Roasted chicken, grilled red meat or salmon, paté, mild cheese and charcuterie.
Style:
Light to medium-bodied and fruity.
Terroir / Region: For centuries, the religious orders of Burgundy meticulously tended to the region’s vineyards. Over the millennia, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay emerged as the two grapes of superior character that were best suited to Burgundy’s fickle climate. Pinot Noir is synonymous with Burgundy and produces some of the world’s most important and sought after wines.
Producer: Albert Bichot is a well-respected négociant family who own a number of vineyards throughout the entire region of Burgundy. The family also purchases grapes from small vineyard holders and blends them with their own fruit to produce a wine that expresses their own house style. This process is important in Burgundy because it creates enough critical volume for the wines to be exported.
Availability:
Albert Bichot Pinot Noir Bourgogne AC 2014 is available at the LCBO in the Burgundy (France) section. The wine is on sale until February 26, with $2.00 off the regular price.
