Dear Subscriber

Just down the street from Art Est., a bright and colourful mosaic (pictured left) has enlivened the tunnel through to Hawthorn Canal. Previously a graffitti hotspot the mural is a great example of how the community can band together to turn a negative space into something wonderful. Be sure to stroll down the hill next time you are at Art Est. to see for yourself and click here to find out more.

Lots of local community events are on this month and we are proud to support the Leichhardt Public School Annual Spring Fete on 18 September as well as the Summer Hill Public School Art Show on 16 September.

Some of our younger artists have works exhibited at the Sydney Fringe Festival  Youth Art Exhibition in Marrickville. It's a 'multidiscipline cultural showcase that offers our audience the thrill of discovery and the opportunity to experience independent new works which are tangible and authentic.' Pick up a program in our Art Est. Gallery when next you visit.

There's also a lot happening at Art Est. with a new exhibition coming up,  the Spring school holidays and our term 4 programs to keep you active in art. Read on to find out more.

And a Happy Father's Day this weekend to all the Art Est. Dads (including mine, also known as Art Est.'s Mr Fixit!). Why not buy Dad a voucher for an art workshop such as Drawing with Pastels on 24 September. It's not too late, and we can email the voucher  in time for Fathers' Day.

Regards
