Happy summer to those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. Earthzine is already planning for 2014, however, with a Call for Papers (just announced) on a first quarter technology theme for 2014, on Earth Science Informatics Challenges

Another quarterly theme for this year, on Applied Sciences, is coming to an end while a new Wildfires Theme is ramping up.

The U.S. forecast for wildfires looks to be above normal for this summer, and we expect the current theme to yield numerous important contributions.

Recent contributions to Earthzine include a piece on Global Hawk from Sarah Frazier, who's filling in as we seek a new part-time content manager

See other recent articles and Quick Looks below, stay tuned for more, and have a great month.
