More Than a Mortgage

Alaska Housing Finance Corporation’s  mortgage department recently crafted a short “Benefits of AHFC” presentation intended to keep industry partners informed of the many features offered by AHFC that are sometimes forgotten or overlooked and that may make the home-buying process for their customers that much easier.

The mortgage department continues to believe customer service is critical and that it requires a constant effort to keep our products and services first and foremost in the mind of our industry partners and customers.  On a recent trip to both Juneau and Ketchikan, “Benefits of AHFC” was incorporated into several lender visits posing the question – “Do you know AHFC offers:  add-on options for lower interest rates; assumable loans; competitive interest rates; a condo approval list; higher conventional loan limits; local lending/servicing; lower credit scores; longer lock-in periods; no loan level price adjustments; rural loans at 90% loan to value with no mortgage insurance; streamline refinances; and, two non-conforming programs to assist with unique properties or situations?”

For more information on this or any of AHFC’s mortgage programs & services, please contact us at mtgops@ahfc.us ; 907-330-8400, or toll free outside of Anchorage:  888-854-3884.
We look forward to hearing from you and sharing information about the “Benefits of AHFC!”

Small Bulb. Big Impact.

The average home has over 50 lightbulbs. Switch out your old bulbs with ENERGY STAR bulbs and start saving energy and dollars.

  • $1.8 billion - The amount American’s saved in 2012 by switching to ENERGY STAR certified light bulbs.
  • $680 million - How much American's could save if every home replaced just one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR certified bulb.
  • 8,000 - The average number of hours an ENERGY STAR bulb is designed to last.
  • 6 - The number of months it takes for and ENERGY STAR bulb to pay for themselves in energy savings.
  • 1 – The number of bulbs you would need to change into ENERGY STAR bulbs to prevent greenhouse gasses equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.

Earning the ENERGY STAR means products meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Lighting products that have earned the ENERGY STAR deliver exceptional features, while using less energy.
