June is National Homeownership Month and at Alaska Housing Finance Corporation we are celebrating the relaunch of a homebuyer education course designed to help Alaskans achieve this milestone. HomeChoice™: Steps to Homeownership is now available fully online, allowing Alaskans to fit the coursework into their lives while still receiving the support of our expert Mortgage team. If you have been thinking about a home purchase but need help getting started, I encourage you to sign up for the free course. Your goal might be more achievable than you think.

In May, we celebrated Alaska's seniors during Older Americans Month. These valued members of our community have shaped our state in countless ways and continue to do so. If you are 55 or older and living in Alaska, I invite you to tell us about your housing needs by completing the Older Alaskans Housing Needs Survey. Your input matters and by telling us about your experiences, you can play a part in shaping the future of senior housing in Alaska.

For decades, AHFC has helped Alaskans navigate the road to homeownership through free homebuyer education. A refreshed version of this class, HomeChoice™ Steps to Homeownership, is newly launched and available fully online!

Calling Alaska Seniors: Make your voice heard! We are planning for the next 30 years of senior housing and we need your input.

Take the survey online before June 30 – it only takes about 10-15 minutes to complete and your answers are anonymous.

Finding Her Home, Serving Her Community

Twenty years after purchasing her home, Dawn says that she can still recall how scary the process felt but remembers a weight lift from her shoulders once the documents were finalized, when all her hard work and waiting had paid off. She credits AHFC homebuyer education and the support of a community with helping her to achieve what once felt like an unreachable goal.
