Tasting Notes: The 2014 Burgo Viejo Crianza is a classic Rioja blend of Tempranillo and Graciano with smooth tannins and a palate of cassis, red liquorice, vanilla and a lingering wisp of smoke.

Terroir/Region: Rioja, Spain is considered to be one of the finest wine regions in the world, with a long history to support the claim. Winemaking dates back to the 11th century BC in the region with the arrival of the Ancient Romans who planted vines everywhere they went. Rioja has flourished and in 2018 had one of its biggest harvests in history with 468 million kilograms of grapes!
Producer: Burgo Viejo began when six farming families combined their efforts to achieve their dream of opening a winery. These families owned their own vineyards and were able to focus on growing the best grapes possible to create their wines.
