Please give blood – register with NHSBT at this year's East Anglian Game and Country Fair.

Little Vintage Lover Fair at The East Anglian Game & Country Fair.

With thousands of patients receiving blood transfusions every year, you can make a date to donate and sign up to save lives.

Donated blood is vital for a wide variety of life-saving procedures in local hospitals. We know all-too-well how important blood donations are. Kate's little boy Alfie was lucky enough to receive a number of transfusions during his first few days of life in intensive care at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital and is now enjoying all the world has to offer at nearly four years of age!

Patients undergoing major surgery and emergency treatment often require blood transfusions, but perhaps less well-known is the fact that blood is essential to the treatment for many different types of cancer and blood disorders. NHSBT needs to collect 1.6 million units of blood each year to meet the needs of patients across England.

In general, as long as you are fit and healthy, weigh over 7 stone 12 lbs (50kg) and are aged between 17 and 66 (up to 70 if you have given blood before) you should be able to give blood.

Visit the NHSBT stand at the Game & Country Fair to find out more.
