Your chance to win a "Cyprus Preparation Centre Award 2018"!

Please note that the award competition is not organised by the British Council.

For the first time, Cyprus is included in Europe's 'Preparation Centre Awards Competition', open to all schools that prepare & register students for Cambridge English Qualifications.

The rule is that one teacher per school can nominate their institution and thus try to win:

2 days in Cambridge including flights, transfers, accommodation and meals

Behind the scenes experience for Cambridge English exams

Attendance at the awards ceremony and Gala Dinner at one of the University's colleges, with fellow European winners and the Cambridge English management team

A plaque to exhibit at school premises and a media kit to showcase your success to the regional press.

Apart from celebrating your work, this event will also be a great opportunity for winners to exchange opinions and build relationships with teachers from Cyprus and other European countries, who will have also won an award in their category.

Competition categories

You can compete in one or more of the following categories:

• Best Cambridge English Preparation Centre: Step by step approach

• Best Cambridge English Preparation Centre: New comer

• Best Cambridge English Preparation Centre: User of Cambridge English books

Important note:

5. Road to IELTS is now available on mobile

A brand new version of Road to IELTS is being rolled out in November. What will you get in this new version?

1. Road to IELTS now runs on all devices: mobile, tablet, laptop and desktop. This means IELTS prep time fits in with the needs of test takers: sitting a full practice test at home, or working on Listening exercises on the bus. And all activity syncs between devices.

2. There’s a complete redesign with a user experience focus. It’s clear, smooth, and directed at the needs and expectations of the IELTS generation.

3. Lots of new content: new activities in the Reading, Writing and Listening sections; new questions throughout; high resolution redrawn graphs for Writing Part 1; comprehensive error-checking and proofreading. It’s more relevant, looks better and more closely matches the needs of IELTS test takers.

Under the change, nurses and midwives wishing to work in the UK will still be required to achieve a minimum overall score of 7.0 in IELTS. However, a 6.5 score in the Writing section of the test will be accepted alongside a 7.0 score in each of the Reading, Listening and Speaking sections of the test.

The change will take effect from 5th December 2018. The NMC has pointed out that it will consider IELTS test results that are under two years old from that date that meet the new requirements.
