Ball room, Monday 12 March 2:30 pm-6 pm (coffee/tea 4-4:30)
Join us to figure out who is doing what and where. The ICT4D field is fragmented and replete with duplications and isolated initiatives. The aim of this session is to share information and open up possibilities for collaboration. A mapping exercise will place organizations, their areas of interest and projects, in various countries and regions.
Aim
The session aims to provide a forum for ICT4D actors to share information in a transparent and interactive manner to learn more about the current ICT4D field. Figuring out who is doing what (in which sectors) and where (countries or regions) will open up the possibility for strategic partnerships that enable us to make the most out of scarce resources. This mapping exercise is meant to initiate an online resource for organizations to link to each other based on common areas of activity and facilitate matchmaking in strategic partnerships in ICT4D.
Format
1. Introductory remark: presentation of Spider and the purpose of the session
2. Open discussion on the mapping exercise and matchmaking idea, including modalities for collaboration, transparency and quality assurance.
3. Expressions of interest by participants and way forward.
