BC releases a Preliminary Strategic Climate Risk Assessment for British Columbia
The Government of British Columbia recently released a Preliminary Strategic Climate Risk Assessment for British Columbia to help better understand climate-related risks in BC and develop appropriate measures to these risks. This is the first phase of an initiative to better understand climate related risks in BC.
The report addresses 15 provincially significant climate risk events for BC, and evaluates the likelihood of said events occurring both now and in 2050 based on high global emissions. The results also discuss the health, social, and economic consequences of the risks.
