Following consultation between the school, the Revd Kevin Montgomery of All Saints’ Church, West Haddon and the PCC, new life and peace have been brought to the school’s original prayer garden. The Revd George Sarmezey, joined the hospital as its first assistant chaplain in July 1997 after working as an assistant priest in a Bristol parish for three years. He became senior chaplain three years later and has continued in that role ever since, supporting patients and staff through many difficult times including the years of the Covid-19 pandemic. Revd Hannah Jeffery, Rector of St Giles Church, Desborough in the Kettering Deanery, has recently completed a London to Paris bike ride to raise money for Daisy, the mother of a member of the congregation at St Giles, who is battling cancer. The Glenvale Church of England Primary School was officially opened by the Rt Reverend Debbie Sellin in a joyful celebration at the end of July. Pupils first moved into the building at the start of the school year when Wilby CEVA Primary School closed its doors for the final time and relocated to the purpose-built site on the Glenvale Park development. Light Project Peterborough is the Bishop’s Charity for 2025. This amazing charity works to enable and equip the church and community to heal the broken-hearted, set free the oppressed, and bring good news to the poor. They have been active in Peterborough since 2009 and continue to support wherever they can. As part of our focus on their work we hear Roy's story.
