Spaces available for our science revision courses
The school holidays are around the corner, and we are offering some great revision courses for high school students who are keen to improve their marks. Spaces are still available on our Eskom Life Science Revision Course, and our Eskom Marine Science Course, aimed at Grade 10 and 11 students, as well as our SeaFans Course, aimed at Grade 8 and 9 students. There is no charge for the courses, but only those with a strong interest in marine science need apply. Details here.

Visit the Aquarium in the school holidays
There's also plenty of fun to be had at the Aquarium these holidays – from June 22 to July 14, the little ones can enjoy arts and crafts activities in the AfriSam Children's Centre, and join us for book readings before our regular puppet shows. We've also got the Aquarium mascots walking about, as well as a special Despicable Me 2 promotion on June 28.

Members-only behind-the-scenes tour
Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Aquarium! Find out how the Aquarium gets its seawater and how this water is filtered, and learn about the multitude of processes that take place here every day. Green turtle washes up at Noordhoek
Last week, Aquarium curator Michael Farquhar received a call about a large green turtle that a member of the public had reported washed up at Noordhoek. We now have a full-time vet at the Aquarium (Dr Georgina Cole, who started in May), so we are well-placed to do everything possible to help this animal. However, it was dehyrated and very ill when it arrived.
