We Remember #OurLondonFamilyOn Thursday, June 6, 2024, London will mark the three-year anniversary of the horrific and devastating act of terrorism that took the lives of four members of Our London Family. In commemoration of their memory, and to support the community in its journey to heal, members of the London Muslim community are hosting several events leading up to and on June 6. Let's Learn and Remember Our London FamilyDate: June 4 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Location: Sherwood Library (1225 Wonderland Road North) The London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership and community partners invite you to join this event to remember Our London Family and continue the healing process by sharing experiences and the impact that June 6, 2021 has had on all of us. All Londoners are welcome to attend this event. Our London Family VigilDate: June 6 from 7:45 to 9 p.m.Location: South Carriage Road west of Hyde Park RoadCommunity leaders and special guests will share words of encouragement and healing during the vigil. All Londoners are invited to participate. Please note this is a standing event. Attendees are welcome to bring chairs. Accessible seating is available. The vigil will require lane reductions and partial road closures. Parking and shuttle bus service is available. Yumnah Afzaal Youth Lounge DedicationDate: June 11 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.Location: London Muslim Mosque (151 Oxford Street West)This dedication ceremony honors the memory of Yumnah Afzaal and reflects the London Muslim Mosque's commitment to creating a supportive environment for youth and community members. The event will include remarks from family and community leaders, a view of the design plan and an unveiling of the commemorative plaque. Due to limited capacity of the space, this event requires an invitation for the official program. The design plan will be available for all to view during the following days in the week.
