Orange Cup

Soon you will be able to quaff your freshly squeezed orange juice from a cup made from the discarded orange rinds. This new technology adds a polylactic acid to ground orange rinds to create a bioplastic that can be formed by a 3-D printer into recyclable cups. The machine has market-tested very well and the manufacturer is feeling the squeeze to get them to market ASAP.

UTSC Commons

You can imagine our excitement when the editor of UTSC Commons told us that the design of the Fall 2019 ‘Disruption’ issue should itself be disrupted. U of T Scarborough is nurturing disruptors who are looking at humanistic ways to address global problems such as climate change and election fraud, and create new business models. The design of this issue breaks from its customary grid and challenges the reader visually. The typography and imagery interact in ways that are less predictable, forming unconventional and evocative relationships. All with the goal of drawing attention to the impact that disruption can initiate.
