Fun for everybunny at the Aquarium this Easter

Fun has been planned for everybunny at the Two Oceans Aquarium these Easter holidays. From 29 March to 7 April, the Aquarium will present a jam-packed, exciting and educational holiday programme for all its visitors. Each day will be filled with activities for young and old to enjoy as they explore the Aquarium’s exhibits.

School holidays are here and it’s time to enjoy an eggciting sleepover at the Aquarium! Decorate a chocolate Easter egg, get up close and personal with snakes, spiders, a bearded dragon and a large African bullfrog in a fantastic creepy crawly show, and then snuggle into your sleeping bag while ragged-tooth sharks glide overhead.

The "Smart Living" Junior Biologist Course aims to challenge and inspire young students to develop an interest in and respect for the sensitive nature and beauty of our planet, and to increase an awareness of what positive actions can be made to protect our environment. Waddle you be doing in April?

It is estimated that the African penguin could be extinct in the wild within 20 years. This scary fact has inspired a group of animal keepers to raise awareness about the plight of this iconic species by waddling for a week from Gansbaai to Simonstown. Keen to join us? Get in touch!

Solo adventurer Ray Chaplin goes shark diving for a good cause

Earlier this month, solo adventurer Ray Chaplin arrived at the Two Oceans Aquarium, donned his wetsuit … and then donned his business suit, for a dive in the I&J Predator Exhibit. Ray is an ambassador for the South African Shark Conservancy (SASC), and was here to film a dive for their latest awareness campaign.

Inspiration – the breath of life

Without inspiration we would lead dull lives, simply going through the motions and routines. Without inspiration, we have no dreams. “What inspires you in your work at the Aquarium?” is a question Helen Lockhart posed at a recent workshop with some of her colleagues at the Aquarium.
