Dear Colleagues,
We are reaching out to you today with several important announcements, listed below.
1. Profiles Deadline
This is a reminder that the deadline for Profiles 2020 is January 31, 2021. If you need an extension, please email a request to data@asee.org if you have not done so already.
2. Printing 2020 Profiles Surveys
You are now able to print your surveys and spreadsheets to PDF format. Institutions should see two preview reports under the new Files tab in survey.asee.org. The first report PDF ends in _OnlineSurvey.pdf and is your online survey data (in PDF form). The second is _Excel.pdf and is your excel sheet (in PDF form).
3. ASEE Faculty Salary Survey
The 2021 ASEE Faculty Salary Survey is open:
(NOTE: If you get a security warning, please click on Enable TLS 1.0.)
We plan on replacing the app this summer, but are running this season with a few modifications. We have added validation checks to ensure that the system flags problematic data (e.g. when the median is higher than the upper decile) for correction before submission. Participation is free and allows an institution access to four national salary reports of the data. There is a $500 fee for the peer reporting tool.
4. Research Expenditure Deadline
We are requesting that research expenditures for institutions that submit to US News survey should be submitted by January 15, 2021 to us for comparison. You do not have to submit by this deadline (and because of this, there is no need to request an extension). As a service to our participating institutions, we compare the detailed research expenditures submitted to ASEE with the aggregate number reported to USNWR. We flag discrepancies so that institutions can either correct or explain them before the publication of ASEE data or USNWR data. USNWR has an earlier survey cycle and we do the comparison before close of our survey.
5. New App for 2019 Data
We have recently put an app online with the 2019 data that will be expanded over the next month:
The 2019 and 2020 data will be placed there (and subsequent years as well) to replace the profiles.asee.org system.
6. ASEE Federal Holiday Closings and Notice
ASEE HQ will be closed Monday, January 18 and Wednesday January 20 for the federal holidays.
Please also be aware that ASEE HQ is located in Washington, DC. While our staff are working remotely, we do live in Washington, DC and in the surrounding areas. Events over this next week may impact response times.
7. FAQ Reminder
Please see here for a FAQ based on questions my team has received:

As always, please contact data@asee.org with any questions or issues about Profiles 2020.
Take care,
