Homeowners now have the opportunity to apply for Alaska Housing Homeowner Assistance, part of the congressionally approved American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Designed to offer relief to Alaska homeowners facing pandemic-related financial hardships, this program is intended to prevent mortgage delinquencies and the loss of critical services. You are not aloneIf you or someone you know is facing financial challenges due to COVID-19, take a moment now to share this resource and pre-register. Pre-registering allows you to check your eligibility in advance of the application period. It only takes a few minutes and you can get started today. The application period closes on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. AKST. This may be unfamiliar territory for many Alaskans. In addition to checking your eligibility for Homeowner Assistance, we encourage you to reach out to your Mortgage Servicer to discuss options that best fit your circumstances. HUD-approved housing counseling agencies are also available to provide you with the information and assistance you need to avoid foreclosure. Staying safely housed is critical.
