Welcome to our autumn newsletter... What a summer we have had, with the unpredictability of the weather matched only by a record number of stunning sunsets! The hotel has been as busy as ever - many thanks go to our wonderful staff team for all their hard work.
The summer has seen a flurry of appearances of The Pierhouse in the press. Not only did the hotel feature in the Scottish Sporting Gazette, but we were also lucky enough to head up a Daily Mail list of the Top 20 Most Romantic Hotels in Britain by travel expert Alastair Sawday. Positive coverage of the hotel is always a real boost to ourselves and the team, so we were further delighted to
learn that The Pierhouse has been awarded Favourite Newcomer in the 2016 Alastair Sawday Guide - read more in our blog or see our entry in the guide.
We've also managed to squeeze in a trip to Arran and Nick has continued his enthusiasm for expanding the range of the Ferry Bar, both whiskies - including the aptly named Lismore whisky - and the ever increasing range of Scottish craft gins.
As the leaves begin to turn (and new dishes appear on our autumn menus), we know that this is a favourite time for many of you to visit the west coast and The Pierhouse. Best wishes to you all and, if you are able to visit, we'll look forward to welcoming you!

There's something of an explosion going on in the world of Scottish gin. Already producing 70% of the UK's gin, the country's craft gin distilling industry is seeing a huge revival - and you can find many of the finest results here at The Pierhouse.

Sporting feature
|
Not content with featuring in a national newspaper, we've also been the subject of a two page spread in the Highlands & Islands special edition of the Scottish Sporting Gazette. Featuring head chef Laura and local fisherman Hughie, the article leads up on our local produce and how it is simply cooked to perfection...

Aromatic visit
|
Despite the hectic summer, Nick and Nikki managed to squeeze in a brief trip to Arran this summer. As well as touring the island, known as Scotland in miniature, they were able to include a visit to Arran Aromatics to meet up with production manager Alan (above), long time supplier to The Pierhouse.

Autumn
flavours
|
Bold flavours and autumnal colours feature in our new season à la carte menu - fiery red chorizo, deep vibrant hues of beetroot and bright fresh tones of mango. A true culinary delight - and there are some fantastic new wines to match!

Lismore galore!
|
The Pierhouse is the only place on the UK mainland where you can treat yourself to a glass of Lismore whisky, which is otherwise exported. So settle yourself in our Ferry Bar and toast the sunset over Lismore with a malt of the same name...
