From The WorkshopWe are appreciating the views from our bench across the Sussex countryside; the slowly lengthening days and the early signs of spring bulbs pushing their way to the light are a welcome reminder of the brighter times to come. We have a gentle routine in the workshop and although we are unable to meet you in person we are still working and are available by email, phone or video. You can contact us here on the link below.

February BirthstoneA member of the quartz family, the beautifully hued amethyst has been admired throughout history. Amethyst was one of the five cardinal gems (along with diamond, emerald, ruby and sapphire) prized for their value by the ancient world. Tibetans consider the stone to be sacred to the buddha and carve prayer stones from it; the ancient Greeks believed an amethyst amulet would protect the wearer from intoxication, and rings for the church and royalty have used the deepest papal purple gemstones. These days we use an array of tones; from pale, pretty lilacs and lavenders to intense violets and traditional purples. Lucky February babies.
