Office of Career & Life Planning - Updates, Workshops and Professional Development
The Office of Career & Life Planning welcomes Mary Konow as Jessup's new Career Counselor. Mary is available to support your career decision-making and professional development goals in face-to-face or online appointments. To schedule an appointment, visit the Online Scheduler.
Career & Life Planning will be partnering with other departments to present the following events and workshops:
Purpose & Calling Week - September 19-23, 2016 will host Kyle Robinson who will speak in chapel on how to use your Strengths for college success. In addition, there will be workshops on campus for students and alumni on Sept. 22 at 6:30pm on Using Your Strengths to Determine Your Future, and another on Sept. 21 at 3pm titled Your Voice, Your Story, Your Influence. There will be life coaches available for 30 minute sessions the afternoon of Sept. 23. All events and workshops are designed to help students and alumni discover how their unique set of strengths, interests and talents can be used to fulfill their individual calling.
Graduate School Readiness Workshop: October 13 from 3-5pm

Professional Development: The Library subscribes to Lynda.com, an online resource which provides training modules for technology, business, and design skills. They even have a growing education skills collection for trainers and educators. Courses range from 30 minutes up to 20 hours, and Lynda provides certifications for certain skills including Project Management.
Students, staff, faculty, and alumni at William Jessup University, can get a free account with Lynda.com for one week at a time through the library. During that time you will have unlimited access to their video-based courses on all kinds of technical and people skills. All your progress is saved as you work through the courses. At the end of a week, your account may be deactivated. All your progress will be saved, and you can be reactivated at any time by requesting access again.
