On track for some incredible end of year results

Braywick Court has really been under the microscope since opening last September - there have been monitoring visits from the Department for Education, the Education Funding Agency, Bellevue Education, the Local Authority (RBWM) and the local governing body. Every one of these experts has been incredibly impressed with what they have seen and especially with the standard of education on offer.

The progress of the children in Squirrel Class has caused quite a stir amongst all parties who have been involved with the school. High quality focused teaching from skilled practitioners, complemented by parents’ support of the children’s learning at home mean that the school is on track for some incredible end of year results. The National Average last year was for 60% of children to reach a Good Level of Development (GLD) by the end of Reception.

The table below speaks for itself!

In addition, an impressive 50% of children are on track to exceed in writing.

What a fantastic achievement!

Exceptional standards set to continue

The high standard of education delivered at Braywick Court School has not gone unnoticed within the Local Authority. This year's Squirrel Class teacher, Lindsay O’Connell, has been asked to be a lead teacher for Early Years for the borough and the school has already spent time supporting other local schools.

It is highly unusual for any school to be viewed as strong enough to be asked to do this, and quite possibly unique to be asked within the first three months of becoming established!

We have significantly expanded our staff team ready for the next academic year. Braywick Court School is proving as popular with staff as it is with families and we interviewed some fantastic candidates for the jobs we advertised.

We are thrilled that Miss O’Connell will be returning part time after her maternity leave to teach Squirrel Class (Reception) alongside Miss Tess Hooker, whose qualifications and impressive track record mean that the same high standards of teaching and achievement of pupils are set to continue.

Our Year 1 Robin Class will be taught by our Head of Literacy, Mrs Sandhar, whose expertise in developing our exciting and skills-based phonics, writing and reading curriculum have clearly made a huge contribution to the incredible progress made by this year’s Squirrel Class.

In addition, we have on board a fantastic team to support our teachers in delivering the highest quality of education to each of our pupils.
