Updates from Duquesne's Educational Technology department No images? Click here Welcome Back! We hope everyone had a wonderful summer. Thank you to everyone who spent some time with us over the summer by participating in one of our various Getting Started with Canvas training sessions. As we transition into the new academic year, Educational Technology is excited to also transition to a slightly different newsletter format. Rather than focusing solely on the university's transition to Canvas, each issue will explore the tools available to help you engage your students and provide you with important updates along with details on our upcoming professional development opportunities. IN THIS ISSUE
What's NewComparing SPOT to SESLike its SES predecessor, SPOT will be an anonymous survey of student perceptions that will be conducted online towards the end of each semester. Instructors will be able to see response rates while surveys are open and will receive results after final exams have finished and all final grades have been submitted. Unlike SES, SPOT will contain fewer questions in an effort to encourage increased student participation while allowing faculty, school, and departmental customization. SPOT ScheduleSPOT surveys will be deployed for every course and every instructor, with the exception of preselected clinicals, labs, independent studies, and internship courses each fall, spring, and summer semester. Surveys for Full Term courses will be open for student completion 3 weeks prior to Reading Day. Surveys Partial Term courses (8 weeks or less) will be open for 12 days. Specific dates will be determined and communicated each semester. Fall 2022 SPOT Deployment Dates
