Our mid-summer long weekend is almost here and this time we’re heading to the cottage – in our wine glass at least. Tasting Notes: This blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling opens with aromas of lemon, apple, melon and light herbal notes as you pour your glass. These flavours explode onto the palate with bright fruit, lively acidity and a hint of sweetness, striking a perfect balance through the long finish.

Terroir/Region: Cottage Block Sauvignon Blanc Riesling comes from a special block of vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake, originally built as a small cottage community to take advantage of the warming effect Lake Ontario provides the area. Little did the cottagers know the location of their “Cottage Block” had the potential to grow grapes and make one of Ontario’s favourite wines!
Producer: Cottage Block is made by Strewn Winery, one of the mainstays of the Niagara region. Located just outside Niagara-on-the-Lake, Strewn has become a hub of local traffic while remaining dedicated to producing quality Ontario wines and to keeping Ontario’s stories, like the “Cottage Block”, living on.
