The "Splinternet" effect: what's considered "viral" these days? What do you think the criteria is for a video going viral? Old Spice Guy has 18 million unique views, doubling sales, while "The Evolution of Dance" got 100 million views! While it's the consumer, not the company, that makes a video viral, one new definition of a "viral video" is a measly 5,000 views. And how many videos do you think go online each month? Over 30 billion! So you can imagine how hard it's getting to make that happen. |

Annoyance or Advantage?Depends who you ask. We've never seen one that we like personally, but some studies document they work. Here's a site that lets you test a virtual spokesperson right on your own website. It's pretty slick technology, and we're not quite sure how they do it. But it's safe: we did the test on our own site. We'd just love to see a little more unusual spokesperson once in a while... like the one over there << |

GreenScapes Landscape CompanyWe've just finished a pretty extensive redesign for GreenScapes that you can see here. It comes complete with rotating story preview, a "What's New" section to keep the content fresh, and an easy-to-use content management system, but alas, no virtual spokesperson. We've also redesigned their email newsletter to go with their new website. And now, they finally have a website that reflects the quality of their work. |
