Celebrating 25 years of Beacon Dodsworth2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of Beacon Dodsworth and we start this year with some very exciting news, the launch of our entirely new web-based GIS product, MapVision. Meet MapVision, our new web-based GISIt is with great pride that we introduce the newest member of our geodata analysis suite, MapVision. This GIS offers some of the most popular features of Prospex, our desktop GIS, in a lean, resource-light, web-based format. This makes it ideal for online collaboration and sharing projects with clients and stakeholders. Designed to be intuitive, and usable with no formal training, it also offers an affordable entry-level GIS suite for new users. Existing Prospex users can use MapVision to share their projects quickly and easily online. We are very grateful to some of our long-standing clients for testing the functionality of MapVision and proud to have them continue to use this new GIS asset. Look out for future newsletters, where we will share case studies of how these clients are using MapVision. Subscribers will also be the first to know about the exciting range of new features we plan to roll-out for this robust platform. If you’d like a sneak peek at the features of MapVision, you can see a preview of our new MV web pages via the link below. Bespoke mapping projectsMapVision also gives our GIS consultancy team an additional way to share finished projects with clients. Our dedicated team of experts can perform in-depth analysis of a client’s data using our full suite of tools and then share the results in MapVision. They can pick up whole projects, large or small, undertake all of the data manipulation and supply you with finished maps. This allows you to benefit from geographic intelligence at a fixed cost without investing in dedicated GIS staff or software. Go back to basics in the blogTo help celebrate our 25th year we are sharing some of our experience with a range of back-to-basics articles on the fundamental aspects of geographic intelligence. So far we’ve released guides to “What is geodemographic profiling”, “What is GIS software” and “A Brief history of the humble Postcode”. For anyone wanting to learn more about geodata, our blog is the place to go. Plus, we have our ever-growing glossary of GIS, mapping and demographic terms. Keep checking back to our site for new blogs over the next few weeks. More celebrations to comeWe will be celebrating our landmark anniversary throughout the year so keep an eye on our Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn accounts, particularly as we approach our birthday in March. If you know anybody else who might like to know more about our geodata products, or see how our clients use geographical analysis to improve their way of working, then please use this forward to a friend link, or the one in the footer of this email to share this newsletter. Don’t forget that every new reader who subscribes is entered into our monthly prize draw to win an Amazon voucher. |
