Although many COVID-induced challenges lie ahead for New Zealand and Latin America, our CAPE remains committed to boosting New Zealanders’ engagement with Latin America. As you will see below, we are continuing to deliver a full set of programmes over the remainder of the year. In this Update we are proud to highlight a number of activities focused on young people: a network for young professionals, some new resources for teachers, and live opportunities for students. All these programmes reflect our belief that New Zealand’s links with Latin America will be transformed by fostering new generations of highly capable leaders who are passionate and knowledgeable about the region and see Latin America as integral to New Zealand’s future. Matthew O'Meagher, LatAm CAPE Director LANZBC Young Professionals Network: introducing the new committeeWe’re happy to announce the appointment of the Latin America New Zealand Business Council (LANZBC) Young Professionals Network (YPN) Interim Committee. Congratulations to Laetitia Laubscher (President), Lauren Wilks (Secretary), Victoria Beck (Treasurer), Daniel Mahoney (Events Manager), Pratibha Singh (Membership & Sponsorship Manager), and Chelsea Heywood (Communications and Marketing Manager)! There were many talented young leaders that applied for the Interim Committee, making the final selection process challenging. The YPN initiative is a collaboration between the LatAm CAPE and LANZBC to establish an enduring peer network for young New Zealanders returning to the country after study and work experiences in Latin America. The YPN Interim Committee will be ramping up their activities soon. We encourage you to follow YPN updates and check out Committee member profiles on Twitter @LANZBC_YPN, Instagram @lanzbc.ypn, and Linkedin.
