House Bill 249
Create a child tax credit for the individual income tax

Heads up, folks! HB 249, a bill that aims to create a state child tax credit, has been introduced and will be heard before House Taxation at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Jan. 20 in room 152 of the state capitol.

If you received the federal child tax credit and would be interested in sharing with your Montana representatives how it helped your family, consider providing virtual public testimony, submitting written comment or calling the legislative info desk at 406-444-4800. Make sure you request the Zoom link or send your comments by 5 p.m. today (Jan. 19) using this web form.

If you would like to send a quick pre-drafted email to all of your elected officials, you can do so here: bit.ly/creditforkids2023

Thanks for your help in working toward the success of our state’s youngest children and their hardworking families!
