This followed many months of intense lobbying and public advocacy by the AMA - including direct negotiations with then Health Minister Sussan Ley. While the national immunisation coverage rate for all five-year-old children is just above 95 per cent, WA lags behind all the other states and territories at 94.30 per cent. How are we faring with the COVID vaccine roll-out? We’re dead last here again, with just 28.1 per cent of our population fully vaccinated, well behind the national average.
