MIPI Alliance Releases New MIPI M-PHY v4.0 Specification

MIPI® Alliance, an international organization that develops interface specifications for mobile and mobile-influenced industries, recently announced an updated version of its MIPI M-PHY® specification, a physical layer interface that supports chip-to-chip and multimedia protocols and applications.

“We are pleased to announce that MIPI M-PHY will deliver a peak data rate of 11.6 Gbps on one lane and increase bus and system efficiency,” said Joel Huloux, chairman of the board of MIPI Alliance. “The new specification dramatically bolsters performances and throughput of data transmitted on 2 pins and offers companies new opportunities to enhance the capabilities of protocols that operate on this technology.”

Kantara Initiative’s Trust Status List Grows

Kantara Initiative is proud to announce that Kimble & Associates is now a Kantara-Accredited Assessor with the ability to perform Kantara Service Assessments at Assurance Levels 1, 2 and 3, in the USA jurisdiction.

Additionally, Electrosoft, one of the Kantara Accredited Assessors received a new grant of Trustmark to continue performing Kantara Service Assessments at Assurance Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4, in the USA and Canada jurisdictions.

TALQ Consortium Publishes Pocket Guide for Smart Outdoor Lighting Tenders

The TALQ Consortium, an organization developing a global standard for software interfaces to manage outdoor lighting networks, assists municipalities in ensuring the integrity of their tendering procedures. By publishing a ‘Pocket Guide for Smart Outdoor Lighting Tenders,’ TALQ offers decision makers an excellent basis for compiling forward-looking, cost and energy saving tenders. The first edition of the Pocket Guide is available on the TALQ Consortium website.

Renewing streetlight control and entire outdoor lighting networks is a complex and highly technical matter for cities, municipalities, utilities, operators and project developers. Many cities have limited experience of tendering for street lighting controls, which are often selected as part of a long-term contract.

2015 IEEE-ISTO Program Satisfaction Survey

By now, IEEE-ISTO member program stakeholders should have received the 2015 IEEE-ISTO Program Satisfaction Survey.

IEEE-ISTO would like to encourage recipients to take a few minutes to complete the survey. Your feedback is vital. It results in improvement plans and service enhancements for IEEE-ISTO members.

Feedback from last year's survey resulted in the following changes/upgrades to the IEEE-ISTO program offerings:

• Modifications were made to finance reports for better Program usability
• A new support service for brand protection and management was introduced
• New IT tools for membership management and online collaboration were added

Please take the time to complete and submit your survey today so that IEEE-ISTO can continue to monitor the needs of our constituents and make improvements for your continued satisfaction.
