With the 2021 disclosure cycle now open, CDP Hong Kong is working to support our stakeholders on their journey towards transparency and climate action and help build a resilient, thriving economy. Here are some of the major updates and insights from CDP's regional team covering Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Just released: CDP's analysis of 2020 TCFD-aligned disclosure in Asia Pacific

As the awareness among the region's businesses remains robust despite COVID, CDP's full analysis, titled "Asia Pacific's Race to Net-Zero", presents the findings from 3,000+ responding companies from 21 markets across the region and highlights the progress on corporate climate actions as well as the challenges confronting their transition to a net-zero future. You can look at the geographic breakdowns in the infographic highlights on climate change, forests, and water security.

 

Catch up on our regional disclosure workshops

In early May, the regional team at CDP Hong Kong has hosted the annual workshops series designed to help companies explore our thematic questionnaires and navigate the CDP reporting platform. The workshops have drawn around 300 participants representing major companies in the region; All four recorded workshops are now available online as a Youtube playlist.

World’s First Disclosure Framework for Banks Integrating Climate and Forest Impacts

CDP recently launched the findings of the Financial Services Climate Change and Forests Pilot Questionnaire. The Pilot project was geographically focused on Southeast Asia, where 85-90% of the world’s palm oil is produced and financed.

The report, available in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, finds that Scope 3 portfolio emissions are the most significant source of GHG emissions for banks – over 400 times higher than operational emissions.
