A big thanks to our 2017/18 Business Partners (see full list on right), their grant funding contributed to the purchase of customised sports wheelchair for 17 year old Caleb who lives with cerebral palsy.

Caleb is entirely wheelchair dependent and requires a full time carer. He plays table tennis as a member of the Australian Para Table Tennis Team and recently represented Australia in the Oceania Regional Championships in Fiji, winning 2 Gold Medals. He will represent Australia again in the Oceania Regional Championships in Slovenia in October 2018.

There are only two Motorbike spots and one Classic Car spot left on this year's event so get in quick so you don't miss out. This year the V2 will be held from Thursday 18 October to Sunday 21 October. You will travel through the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis, catch the ferry to Kangaroo Island, spend two days and nights taking in the spectacular coastal scenery and culinary delights the island has to offer before boarding the ferry back to the mainland. Once off the ferry you will travel through the Southern Fleurieu and along the south coast to your final night stay at ‘The Bend’ Motorsport Park at Tailem Bend.

Young Variety SA Quiz Night was a fun night out for all involved

Thank you to everyone that attended the Young Variety SA Quizmas in July event. We’ve never seen so many ugly Christmas sweaters in one room, so well done on getting into the spirit. The event was a great success and almost $5,000 was raised. This money will be going directly towards helping South Australian children in need through Variety SA.

The next Young Variety SA event will be in October, please stay tuned for updates.

Featured Grant Story: Josh

Joshua is 12 years old and has a congenital disease, Arterio Venous Malformation (AVM), a 1:100,000 diagnosis. To date, Joshua has had 15 procedures and is likely to have many more. Despite the medical complications, Joshua is a determined young man and has achieved a great deal of success in Archery with long term goals to represent Australia in the Olympics and World Championships. Variety helped Joshua by providing a Variety Heart Scholarship to assist with competition fees, a new bow and case, as well as arrows. With his determination and unquestionable talent, Joshua has a bright future ahead.
