CPYC State Heat No. 8 at Claremont Yacht Club - Saturday, 4 September

Claremont Yacht Club on behalf of the Cruising and Power Yacht Committee of WA (CPYC) invites power boats from RFBYC to compete in State Heat No. 8  on Saturday, 4 September.

If you would like to compete, don't delay getting your entry in - entries close 1700 hrs tomorrow, 1st September.

CYC will send start times and course information  to competitors via email  on Thursday 2nd September.

CYC also  invite you to stay on afterwards for a burger and drink - $20 per person.

Pathfinder Trophy Time Trial - Saturday 11 September

Saturday, 11 September is the The Freshwater Bay Shipwrights Trophy Day when boats  will be competing on handicap for the Freshwater Bay Shipwrights trophy kindly donated by Wes Davies.  This is also the time trial where we present the “Pathfinder 25 Perpetual Trophy” to the boat with the least points lost on handicap with a skipper or navigator aged 25 years or under.  So get the date in your diary and line up your one of your kids, grandkids or one of the neighbours kids and enjoy a wonderful day on the water promoting our sport to the next generation.  So that we may prepare in advance, please let us know  who your young skipper or navigator is going to be.

Power Closing Day and End of Season Presentations - Saturday 18 September

We have pleasure in inviting all power boats to take part in the 2021 Power Closing Day "Inkognito Trophy" Time Trial on Saturday, 18 September.

This is a non consistency event commencing at 14:00 hrs - Course 219.  

Come along afterwards and help us celebrate the end of a successful 2021 Power Yacht Time Trial Season with trophy presentations in the Athol Hobbs Room from 4:00pm.
Canapés will be served with a drink on arrival and a cash bar will be available.

RFBYC's ZM Zeffert Memorial Time Trial competing for the KYLIE CUP - Sunday 29 August

Last Sunday, 29 August was the 64th running of the JM Zeffert Memorial Time Trial (Kylie Cup) and what a wonderful day it was.   We had 45 boats on the water from the four competing clubs and from what we hear, a great time was had by all. Congratulations to Guy Skinner and Richard Evans from South of Perth Yacht Club on Thanet, the 2021 winners of the Kylie Cup losing just 7 points through the 13 checkpoints.

Calling all Randell Owners

Ahoy! Randell Boat Owners and Enthusiasts.

An historic 2-day event is being hosted by South of Perth Yacht Club and sponsored Boats Online on the September long weekend. This will be a special gathering and celebration of boats designed by local legend and boat designer, Len Randell and a great opportunity for owners and enthusiasts to be part of the inaugural ‘Randell Raft-Up’ and ‘Rally-Sail Past’ on the beautiful Swan River

Changes to Swan & Canning Riverpark

Dept Transport have recently advised changes to the Swan & Canning Riverpark.  The changes came into effect on 10 August  to boost safety and enjoyment of the Swan & Canning Riverpark.

These include:

➡️ an 8 knot speed limit between the Narrows Bridge and Barrack Square
➡️ realignment and renaming of the water sport area at South Perth
➡️ a permanent 5 knot area near the Matagarup Bridge
