These black watermelons come from our friends at Vierra Farms located in West Sac. Fifth-generation farmer David Vierra says his passion for farming “is in my blood. To celebrate UCD Alumni winemakers, wine and food we’re teaming up with the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science for Nugget Markets Best of the Barrel event on Friday, September 28th at RMI’s Good Life Garden, 5pm - 8pm. Enjoy local, organic, and imported wines from more than 40 wineries along with Nugget Markets chef-prepared dishes and a wide selection of beer, cheese, grilled meats, and more! Proceeds benefit RMI’s graduate program and outreach. Tickets available now for $60 each through September 21st at all Nugget Markets. Don’t wait! Ticket price increases to $75 each on September 22.
