Boot

Spring is finally here (supposedly).

We see two reasons why you should want to wear these striking orange beauties. Firstly, nature is coming back to life and so should you – walk through those rain puddles with confidence and style. And, secondly, give all of your fellow "social distancers" something to talk, text and post about. Keep well. Keep smiling.

University of Toronto Scarborough
Commons Spring 2020

The latest issue of the University of Toronto Scarborough's magazine Commons focuses on the overall academic excellence of the campus. UofT Scarborough is always striving for an equal experience for every student no matter their background, upbringing, physical or mental disability, gender, age, or living environment. We were very excited, and a little sad, to design this last issue. Graphically, we worked with the addition and multiplication symbols. Addition to represent the academic excellence of the school, and multiplication to align with the exponential expansion of the campus and the economic growth of Scarborough and the Eastern GTA.

Kipling Group
Visual Brand & Website

The Kipling Group is a full-service real estate investment company with a focus on commercial property, multi-family residential real estate, and agriculture. Hambly & Woolley were honoured to be the design company of record when Kipling launched a decade ago. So, we were thrilled to be asked to work with their marketing manager to help refresh the visual brand and redevelop their existing website 10 years later. With a mandate to reinforce Kipling's relationship-strong brand, we created a responsive WordPress web platform. A new typographic sans-serif system helps modernize the impact of the content and the existing red palette gives the site visual strength.

#202030

April 1st, 2020 was the 30th anniversary of Hambly & Woolley. To say that April 1st, 1990 feels like yesterday isn't quite right. There have been monumental shifts in communication since then. Umm, the Internet? Team members have grown up. Kids have been born (and attended university). Dozens of designers have contributed to our success. To celebrate 30 years in business, we are going to spend the year creating some exciting projects to honour our love of design and typography. These will be part of #202030 (we had to name and brand this). Watch this space for coming announcements...

P.S. The chosen dark blue colour you see above is hex colour #202030 (of course!!!).
