Dear Colleagues,
I just wanted to send an update to you of the timeline for the our surveys in light of the events with the COVID virus and institutions having to respond to the current national emergency. While we have produced the data preview reports for 2019 Profiles data and initially requested institutions submit corrections by March 17, we want to give institutions enough time to review (as we work through our internal validation processes as well) given the changes made this year. I have worked with my team and with our contractor to adjust our timelines. We will extend the deadline for validation until April 17, 2020 (leaving open the survey submission sites).
We will refresh institutions data preview reports by 9 AM ET tomorrow morning with data submitted by 5pm today. We will refresh these reports with newly submitted data every Friday morning at 9 am with data submitted by 5pm the evening before. Thank you to institutions who have let us know where there were issues and corrected data already. Please email Charles Stuppard, ASEE Data Analyst, directly at c.stuppard@asee.org, to re-open your survey if you have previously submitted it and need to correct data.
This shifts the timeline for the EDMS to go live as well as the production of the College Profiles book. Under the new timeline, the new Engineering Data Management System will be live with 2019 late April/early May. During the added month, we will work on testing the new EDMS with historical data and initial 2019 data during the interim period and then refreshing the data with the final 2019 data. Our current plans are to produce the Profiles book and mail it to institutions before the end of the summer 2020.
Several institutions have also requested an extension to the faculty salary survey: we will extend the faculty salary survey to May 1, 2020. We anticipate being able to email national reports and for those who have purchased access to the peer reporting tool, opening the tool by May 8, 2020.
My team is working during this time and can respond to questions or concerns. Given the daily changing circumstances, we will evaluate every two weeks and let institutions know if there are further changes.
Take care,
Joe
