The European lighthouse cities Vienna, Munich and Lyon as well as the follower cities Santiago de Compostela, Sofia and Venice come together in order to improve the quality of life of their citizens. Below you will find updates on the development of co-created and replicable Smart City solutions in 5 concrete areas– citizen engagement, district heating & renewable energy, holistic refurbishment, smart data and e-mobility. Smarter Together Participates in Nordic Edge ExpoFrom 25-27 September, Smarter Together participated in the Nordic Edge Expo in Stavanger, Norway, joining over 4500 visitors, along with fellow members of the Horizon 2020 Smart Cities and Communities (SCC1) projects. From Smarter Together Munich Munich's Smart Lamp Posts ShineOne of the areas in which Munich has been hard at work is the development of "smart" city lighting solutions, or lamp posts which are enabled with sensors to gather data and provide real-time information and services to citizens. From Smarter Together Lyon E-mobility Overview in Lyon ConfluenceSmarter Together lighthouse city Lyon, France has been at the forefront of e-mobility with ambitious plans to reduce transport-related CO2 emissions, transport-related noise, reduce dependence on fossil fuels and to alter mobility behaviour while strengthening multimodal mobility. From Smarter Together Vienna Smarter Together Provides a Touchscreen Computer for Simmering Education CentreOn 28 September 2018, Smarter Together Vienna introduced a high quality all-in-one touchscreen computer with high quality graphic capabilities to the local public library at the peoples’ university VHS Simmering, located in the heart of the project area. The event will gather a mix of urban innovators and activists, local government representatives, researchers, entrepreneurs, experts and policy specialists, allowing for a rich learning experience and exciting debates.
