No images? Click here ![]() Together With Good morning. I spent most of this week with a group of about a dozen NHA preceptors and their AITs. In the room were over 150 years of senior living leadership experience. The energy was palpable. The highlight for me was the passionate answers to the question, "What is something you know now that you wish you knew as a newer NHA or senior living leader?"
Elevate your leadership by leveraging experience We provided our preceptors with this question a week before the conference and asked them to come prepared to share their answers with the group. "What is something you know now that you wish you knew as a newer NHA or senior living leader?" 12 NHAs with experience ranging from 5-25 years, from 6 different states. Their experience comes from for-profit, not-for-profit, large chains, and smaller regional operators. The most common answer was nearly identical from 9 of the 12 leaders. 75% of the leaders had individually, without consulting each other, come to the same conclusions. Focus on relationships first, and don't get hung up on the small stuff. It's worth repeating. Focus on relationships first, and don't get hung up on the small stuff. They didn't talk about Covid. Noone mentioned F-tags or occupancy. Let that sink in as you begin your Thursday. Be vulnerable. Make the time to connect. You won't regret it.
Webinar opportunity Be sure to register for the upcoming webinar from our partners at Base 10. Your clinical team won't want to miss learning about the role nurses and precision medicine can play in managing cardiovascular disease in the skilled nursing and senior living setting. I'm impressed with the common sense services Base 10 brings to our industry. Utilizing a resident's specific genes to determine the most appropriate medication regimen means better resident outcomes, reduced med pass times, and decreased pharmacy spending.- The trifecta. ![]() Grab your coffee and make it a great day.
