Mental Health Week 2016 is only a few weeks away! If you're wondering what's on so you can get along to an event near you, look no further. Details of all major events are below.

Mental Health Week is on 8 to 15 October 2016.
The theme is Act-Belong-Commit with a focus on suicide prevention.

Perth Wildcats to tip off Mental Health Week

DON'T miss out on all the live basketball action watching the Perth Wildcats take on the Cairns Taipans in their first home game for the season, as we officially open Mental Health Week 2016.

Staying active and being part of a club or sports group are great ways to protect our mental health. To acknowledge this, Mental Health Week WA is hosting this year's Opening Ceremony at Perth Arena to watch our home team play. There will plenty of mental health information available, plus freebies, activities and games.

Free Family Fun Day at Elizabeth Quay

At this free, all ages event we will also celebrate the peak body for community mental health in WA, the Western Australian Association for Mental Health's 50th birthday. Register your interest and grab all the details on our Family Fun Day on 9 October here.

Laughing provides an instant mood boost! This year's Mental Health Week closing ceremony will end on an upbeat note. Laughing and seeing the lighter side of life are great protective factors for our mental health and wellbeing.

  • Register your event: Tell us about what you're planning for Mental Health Week so we can feature it on the events page.
  • Order resources: Ensure your promotional activities and events are equipped with the right material.
  • Attend an event: See what events are on around WA and get along with friends and family!
  • Get your school involved: Order school resources and plan a wellbeing activity for your school.
    Get your workplace involved:  Engage your workforce or team with a wellbeing activity or event. Why not hire a guest speaker or display some mentally healthy tips. Need mroe ideas? We can help.
