Scratch & Sniff diapers with poo?

For some reason, Wisconsin has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the US.
So the Milwaukee United Way hired local firm, Serve Marketing, to develop this attention-getting promotion. Congratulations to the United Way for being bold enough to go with such a forceful idea. The message inside the circle reads "This really doesn't stink, but the consequences of teen pregnancy sure do." A perfect example of the power of marketing a single idea.

The "Truthiness" of Twitter

I've often thought marketing ruins social media ~ from SecondLife to Facebook and now, Twitter. A company called Izea pays folks to Tweet on behalf of their business clients. What's surprising is how shortsighted this is of both Izea and their clients. Not surprisingly, the Tweeters don't let on that they're being paid. Just this week, the FTC ruled that bloggers must disclose if they're getting money or freebies from the companies they blog about! Finally, some "truthiness"in advertising!
