Plans are underway to open in September!

Fantastic progress is being made with the build of Calverley Adventure Grounds. Jennette Emery-Wallis is full of praise for the incredible work of the Ground Control team and we're on schedule to open in September. More news about the opening will be shared next month.

In the meantime, if you haven't managed to pop down to take a peep, here's what you can expect to see ...

Play equipment

The beautiful play equipment is 90% complete. The stepping stone paths and sand stream bridge are under construction, followed by work on installing the water pump.

An array of plants

Stunning wild grass, lavender and trees have been planted. Turf will be laid in the next few weeks if the cooler weather holds. We've loved the hot spell, but the rain is a welcomed sight.

Next month

Will see the arrival of the finishing touches such as railings, interpretation boards and of course, the Calverley Sheep. Plenty of time will be allowed for the turf to settle.

Love our park picnic

Lastly, Friends of Calverley Grounds are hosting a picnic this Saturday. If you prefer this view to the one of offices, please come down at 12pm to show you oppose the Council's plans.
