Qantas' affordable Broome airfares extended

A successful trial of affordable airfares between Perth and Broome has seen the initiative extended. The offer is the result of a partnership between Tourism WA and Qantas and gives passengers the opportunity to fly between Perth and Broome from $199 one way during high season and $179 during low season. Two levels of discount are available on one way fares travelling from Friday to Sunday and booked in advance. Broome residents will continue to have access to Qantas' discounted fares program, which offers up to 30 per cent off year-round fares for return travel to Perth Thousands took advantage of the Broome special offer when flights went on sale last August. The discount extension is the latest affordable airfares initiative negotiated by Tourism WA to encourage visitors to regional WA and follows the announcement in April of $169 fares between Perth and Exmouth. Read more on our corporate website or visit Qantas’ website to book a discount fare.

Roebuck Bay Lookout officially opens

The Roebuck Bay Lookout in Broome has been officially opened by Tourism Minister Paul Papalia. The elevated platform offers visitors sweeping views over Roebuck Bay and was constructed as part of the $12.7 million Chinatown Revitalisation Project, supported in part by Tourism WA. Artwork and cultural information panels for the lookout were designed in collaboration with Yawuru traditional owners and Broome Senior High School students and provide visitors with an insight into the location’s cultural significance. The lookout is a point of interest on the award winning Jetty to Jetty self-guided heritage walk designed to showcase the beauty, culture and history of the Roebuck Bay foreshore and the town’s pearling past.
