New Official Horry County Flood Maps

New flood zones across Horry County from FEMA are now officially in effect. The new maps will affect a significant number of properties, roughly 10,500 parcels according to county staff.  That amounts to more than 12,300 addresses. Horry County notified homeowners who will now fall into the FEMA flood zone via door hangers. If you have been notified that you are and you feel you need to dispute if you are in fact in a flood zone, a letter of map amendment is where you need to start. This is where an individual who owns, rents or leases property may submit certain mapping and survey information to FEMA and request that FEMA issue a document that officially removes a property and/or structure from the Special Flood Hazard Zone area. G3 can assist with

survey and the letter of map amendment. If you still have questions, you can reach the flood reduction officer for Horry County at (843) 915-5090. For more information about the flood zones and insurance process. Click here to learn more..

Wait Times for Permits Can Cause Headaches, So Plan Ahead

The new year is known for resolutions and usually brings to mind goals and projects that we hope to accomplish within the next year.  With permit waiting periods taking longer than expected due to Covid-19, we suggest submitting permit requests sooner rather than later.
